I need new tights and quite tempted to get some...
Like these:
But they’re more than double what I would pay for a replacement pair of what I got.
Anyone own or recommend them over regular tights?

There was just over 1000 runners at my local Parkrun 5k this week. 1000!
Usually there are 600-700.
It just shows how many people took up running/exercise as a New Year’s resolution. I wonder how many there will be after a month or two…

First run of 2012 done!
It was only 2.9 miles with running club but it’s better than nothing.
Targets for this week/month/whatever:
- start the 30 Day Shred (again!), starting tomorrow
- do an interval run
- run over 10K for my long run (joining my friends’ running club on Sunday for their run. Should be good. I might even consider becoming a member.)
- log my miles on dailymile so I can actually get...
I made an ABOUT ME page on my blog →
It’s all about my weight loss journey. Lots of pics!
I did it to motivate myself. Thought you might be interested…
I ate really well today
until I sat down to watch Sherlock this evening and I may or may not have eaten 8 Ferrero Rochers. I only stopped because I was feeling sick and bloated, if I hadn’t I would’ve carried on.

I'm off now but just wanted to wish you a happy...
I hope it’s the year where you accomplish your goals, whatever they may be.
I’m off to gorge myself senseless on Chinese take-away and wine and sit in front of the telly until the small hours of the morning. And then depending on how I feel I might go out for a run in the morning. Now that’s dedication for you!
See you in 2012!

Just entered my first race of 2012!
And it’s not even 2012 yet!
I weighed myself this morning for the first time in ages and I’m 13 stone 4lbs! That’s a whole stone (14lbs) over my lowest weight.
Eeeep!
It’s all that chocolate/mince pies/christmas cake conveniently placed in every room of the house, that is.
I'm off to bed
to wait for Santa get a good night’s sleep for an early morning run.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.
Have a lovely day and don’t eat too much turkey and mince pies! Or do. It’s up to you. I know I will, hence the run…
I love you all :D

I hate being a self-conscious runner
I’ve got so used to running in the dark after work that the thought of running in full daylight makes me nervous.
I’m on Christmas hols at the moment and I can run at any time but I’d much rather wait all day until it gets dark and then go out. I like being less visible (although I wear a fluorescent vest and a flashing arm band).
Anyway, it’s getting dark here so...

Just typical...
I get to running club dressed for the down pour, hang out in the shop for half an hour and when we’re ready to run it’s stopped raining and it’s actually quite mild. So of course I over heat. You can’t win with the weather in this country…
But I didn’t have anyone holding me back tonight so I really gave it my all, running most of the route on my own. The route...
Hiiiii!
Wow, the last week before the winter break really wore me out. The boy I tutor wasn’t in the whole week but I worked in class anyway There was so much to do; making snowmen out of socks and rice, glitter Christmas trees, scrawled cards and taking part in a sing-along (us teachers more than the children!). It was lovely celebrating Christmas with the kids. I’m such a big kid.
Now I...

I went for a 45 minute brisk walk this morning...
YAY!
Now I can stop focusing on ab work and weights and more on running again! Cos I’ve got muscles - my abs are rock hard - I just need to strip away the layer of fat over them! I want my body from when I worked delivering groceries in London and I was lifting, climbing steps, walking etc for 8 hours a day.
‘Trouble is I love my food! I’m not so bad on the weekends when the...

The Santa fun run 5k is on Sunday...can't wait!
The suits are massive! I could literally wrap the top twice around me. I imagine it’s going to be very hot inside there once I get warmed up, so I’m going to wear my summer running kit underneath - capris and vest.
It’ll be the first time I’ve run since my half marathon 2 weeks ago. I’m so ready to go!
My foot feels much better. The only time it twinges is when I...

I have a 5k Santa fun run on Sunday and my foot is just as bad as ever. I’m going to rest for the rest of this week and hope it’s better by then.
I’ve not run for a whole week now and it’s killing me.
To make matters worse, my college friends are arranging a get-together before Christmas and I’m not happy with how I look or feel at the moment. I’ve not put on...

I'm itching to go for a run
Everytime my foot feels better and I contemplate going out for a quick run of the block the pain comes back.
What makes it worse is that I had that I had the day off today and it would’ve been the perfect opportunity to run in the daylight for once. Grrrr!
I don’t want to rush getting back to running on it because apparently these type of injuries re-occur but I feel so lazy!

I'm feeling sorry for myself...
It sounds like I’ve got something called Peroneal tendonitis, so it means lots of resting. Luckily I haven’t got any races lined up apart from a 5k fun run in 2 weeks. I should be able to do that even if I don’t run between now and then. I’m going to be so grumpy though as I won’t be able to get out all my frustration on a run.
I’ve pulled muscles and sprained...

Today didn't go as well as I hoped
I had planned on coming home from work, doing the 30 Day Shred and then do 5k with running club in the evening.
Instead I limped around at work all morning, came home and put my foot up on a bag of frozen peas (whilst watching Jeremy Kyle), bandaged it and put my running gear on. Where we park for running club it’s about a 10 minute walk from the car park so I limped from there to the...

My foot hurts :(
Since the end of my half marathon I’ve had this really bad pain in the outside area of my right foot, just before the ankle bone. My feet are really veiny so it’s difficult to see if it’s bruised or a trapped blood vessel. All I know is that it hurts to walk…a lot.
Gotta be on my feet all day with the little ones tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll wake up and it would’ve...

Today is the last day I'm eating crap and putting...
I’ve done my second half marathon today (I’ll post tomorrow about that) and I don’t have any long distance races in the calendar, other than a 5k Santa fun run next month. After the race today I ate the entire contents of my goody bag - crisps, slice of home-made fruit cake, granola bar, Capri Sun, and a little piece of chocolate. And then we stopped off at the motorway services...

I need to find some water and drink it
in preparation for tomorrow.
Wish me luck!
I’m going with a friend from running club. It’s her first half marathon and we’ve done all of our long training runs together so we’re doing the half together too, even if I’m going to come in way past my PB. We’re sticking together no matter what happens.
liveloselove asked: What is your ab routine, if you don't mind me asking? I've run one 5K and I'm coming up on my second. But I'd like to run a 10K and eventually a half. What advice do you have for increasing my endurance as far as mileage goes? I usually run 3-4mi. 5x a week but I'd like to be able to run more.
karliewithak asked: Your blog, makes me want to starting running marathons ahah I run a lot of 5ks, but never competitively. And dude you still look amazing. Just saying I envy your abs! Have a lovely day!

My half marathon is on Sunday and I'm worried
I’ve had this weird foot pain for the last couple of days. It’s in the middle of the ball of my left foot. It feels like I’m constantly treading on a little stone and when I press it it’s a bit sore. I can’t see or feel anything but it’s in a very specific tiny area of my foot. Luckily my running shoes cushion it a bit but I could feel it towards the end of the...

I need help.
Someone kick me up the backside.
I’ve been so lazy lately and my 2nd half marathon is next week. If it weren’t for my running buddy I would only do 2 or 3 5k-ish length runs during the week, but because of her I do 10-13 miles on the weekend.
Except this weekend where I lied to her and said I have too much on my plate, although it’s kind of true. She’s planning on...

Day 2 of Killer Buns and Thighs completed.
2-mile run with my sister completed instead of Day 2 of 30 Day Shred. It was pitch black at 5pm - depressing!
Despite feeling like I’ve had my arms yanked off and my stomach kicked in from doing day 1 yesterday, 30DS seems like a walk in the park compared to B+T. But I’m still going to carry on torturing myself with it because I can feel...

Jillian Michaels I hate you!
Those words (and worse ones) came out of my mouth many times this afternoon.
I got home from work and did day 1 of the 30 Day Shred AND Killer Buns and Thighs. 30DS was fine but boring cos I’ve attempted it so many times in the past. But B+T was a killer!
It went straight from jumping jacks or whatever to an insane exercise called ‘deep lunges’ which were basically planks but...

Happy Halloween followers!
What are your plans for tonight?
I’m running the Halloween 5k Nite Run with several members from my running club, and my sister. In fancy dress. At night. I’m so excited and cannot wait! I was probably annoying everyone at work this morning by going on about it…they probably wondered why I was so excited by running.
Basically we’re running through woodland, along canal...

I’ve been so busy this week that when I’ve had the opportunity to go out for a run I’ve been too tired or lazy to go.
I started regular work on Monday. Before I was a substitute teacher so I didn’t work every day, but now I’m a learning support assistant with a 3 year-old partially deaf boy who is in school every morning 8:30-12:30 and two afternoons a week. You...

Half marathon training - Sunday long run
Distance: 11.2 miles
Time: 2:12:30
Pace: 11:50 min/mile
This is the long run I’d arranged with Rachel from running club. I’d never run this long with another person but she’s a total chatterbox and although she’s only been running for 8 months she’s very knowledgeable. I was getting really sore and lacking in energy towards the end and she kept me going.
It...

I've been so lazy this week and I have no excuses...
It’s currently the half term break (or mid-semester break, I believe they call it at work) so I’ve been really lazy exercise-wise.
Although I’ve been lying in until 8/9am all week I’ve got stuff done. My dad, for his new job, is relocating to Southampton on the south coast so Mum and me have been buying stuff to furnish his new flat that he gets the keys for tomorrow....

I had a really great time at running club tonight
It was only a 5k but Josh, Rachel and me were middle of the pack and we just talked the whole way. I seriously could have run for miles at that pace, talking about nothing in particular. It was pitch black down some of the roads so it was nice to have the safety of two others runners alongside.
Then at the end I asked Rachel, who’s doing the same half marathon as me, if she wanted to do a...

Sunday long run
Planned: 9 miles
Actual: 9.75 miles
Time: 1:47:36
Pace: 11:00 min/mile
The first couple of miles were really stiff, then I relaxed and got into it and enjoyed it for the best part. But that didn’t last long; I got slightly lost at mile 7, taking a short cut I thought I knew but obviously didn’t. I ran through wet grass, got soaking shoes and socks which led to squelchy shoes and...

I suck at updating this blog, I really do.
But I’m on track with my second half marathon training.
This morning I ran my usual weekly Parkrun 5k. It was absolutely freeeezing when I got in the car, barely registering 1*C but the park was gorgeous - really misty, beautiful autumnal colours and the sounds of the stags calling in the distance. It got up to 5*C by the start of my warm-up but I was sweating already by the end of the km,...
